QAT Global, a long term partner with the State of NV,  is seeking a highly skilled Powerbuilder Developer with experience in Web services  for an integration effort for the Department of Motor Vehicles located in Carson City, NV.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) application (CARRS) is a fully integrated client server system written in Power Builder, VB.NET, ASP.NET, COBOL, DB2, and SQL.  The DMV application has over 800 internal users, many external customers and interfaces with local, State and Federal agencies.  Nevada DMV received federal grant funding to integrate and implement VLS (Verification of Lawful Status) and USPVS (US Passport Verification System) within the DMV CARRS application.  The consultants will be working on integrating and implementing VLS and USPVS systems with the DMV CARRS application.  The consultants will add all of the required functionality to the DMV application in accordance with the VLS and USPVS documentation.

Data is stored in DB2 tables on the Mainframe.  Access to the data is done through COBOL RPCs using SQL.  There is also a good amount of business logic stored in COBOL RPCs to be created and/or modified. 

CARRS will need to interface with AAMVANet using UNI or Web Services to verify immigration documents and track the status of all open cases.

Developer must perform all activities to the agreed upon project plan/schedule.  Consultants must be able to do the following:

Analyze code that has minimal documentation;  Re-engineer code based on the need and assigned task;  Attend JAD sessions; gather and document project requirements when assigned;Create new code following guidelines established by Nevada DMV; Test code;Maintain privacy and security of data;Provide necessary documents for change;Learn quickly;Write efficient code;Work well with other members in the project;Provide status reports as desired by the Project Lead; and prepare other project documents as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in PowerBuilder version 10 or higher.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of working with Web Services from Power Builder, DLL’s, etc.  PowerBuilder programs call COBOL, DB2, CICS programs on the Mainframe and web services.
  • Having any of the following skills would be beneficial but not required. Mainframe COBOL, DB2, CICS, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript,
