National Transportation Company Looks to QAT for GIS Resources
GIS Candidates Bring Expertise to Mapping Project
Client Overview/The Situation
A client representative contacted QAT and expressed interest in hiring a GIS expert for a mapping project she was overseeing. Beyond there being a finite pool of candidates holding this skill, the budget had been set at a level commensurate to a recent college graduate.
The resource would be expected to bring experience using GIS tools such as ArcView, ArcInfo, and other tools within the ESRI suite. The deliverables for the position were to include geolocate utility crossings and other property agreements for the company utilizing aerial photographs and legal descriptions to input data into GIS systems.
Services QAT Provided
QAT recruited well for this need, eventually bringing multiple resources on board to support the effort. The QAT GIS team was uniformly well respected and thought of within the project team. It was an effort which proved to the client, that while outside the normal scope of those skills to which we were most often called on to support, the team of in-house recruiters was competent and capable in bringing “right fit” resources to the table.
Skills Provided By QAT Consultants
Resource 1 interviewed with the client and was currently employed at the time he interviewed with us. Initially, they selected another candidate we presented, however after six weeks they called looking for another resource. The resource was still interested and without a second interview, they wanted to hire him.
Resource 1’s work ethic and skills made it easy to place a second resource and the two of them continued to excel and were top candidates in the GIS project.
